The Kyrgyz Ata National Reserve offers the chance to observe Kyrgyz wildlife in a protected setting. Escape the summer heat of the Fergana Valley and relax in the cool juniper forests of the reserve or hike along ancient nomad trails. Spot furry marmots, soaring eagles… and be amazed by the variety of wildflowers. Walk to the summit of the Kum Bell Pass and cross the isolated summer pastures of Kyrgyz herdsmen. Spend two (or more) evenings under the wide starry sky.
Day 1. Ride to the Kyrgyz Ata National Reserve. Lunch upon arrival. Set up tents at the riverbanks among the juniper forest. Have a short walk in the surrounding hills (2 — 3 h). Dinner at the campfire.
Day 2. Head to the Kum Bell Pass following ancient trails. Enjoy the juniper forests and the view on the snowcapped mountains. Return to the campsite and overnight in tents.
