Kara Alma — Car & horseback tour to Sokutash

Car & Horse Tour

Duration: 1 day

Level of Difficulty: Everybody with normal condition. If you take the car option you are only 2 hours on the horse. This will make the tour easy for unexperienced riders. This tour can also be done by families with children

Group size: best size from 1 to 15

Requirements: small backpack with enough water, a jacket or raincoat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Wear comfortable sporting shoes and long trousers or jogging trousers. The rest of your luggage you can leave at the homestay/car. Towels are available at the homestay.

Description:

This tour is an excellent tour for unexperienced riders, because you can do the first part by 4×4 car. In total you will be 2 hours on the horse. The second part will be done by horse and gives you an excellent view on the white headed surrounding mountains. After your horseback tour we explore the village and visit some local projects. We sleep in a homestay in Kara Alma. The next morning, after our breakfast, we drive back to Jalal-Abad.

Day 1:

• At 08:00 you will be picked up by your guide from your guest house, hotel or hostel in Jalal-Abad.
• At around 09:30 we will arrive in Kara Alma. We will drive with a 4×4 car to the top of a hill.
• At around 11:00 we will reach the top of the hill. From here we will continue with horses.
• After 1 hour of horseback riding we are at the top of the mountain and we will enjoy the scenery while eating a little snack.
• At around 13:30 we will be back at the hill where the car dropped us of before. A lunch will be prepared for us here.
• After lunch we go back to  Kara Alma village by car, where we will arrive at around 16:00.
• We will do a short walking tour through the village. Nearly every family holds animals, makes jam from local fruits and collects walnuts in September. We will visit a local women’s project: 11 women prepare and produce dried fruits for an ‘all natural’-brand and we get to see a demonstration in handicrafts.
• After that you can take a nice shower and we will have dinner in our CBT homestay in Kara Alma.
• The next morning, we will return to Jalal-Abad, which will be a 1 1/2 hours drive

Horse Tour

This tour is of medium difficulty, you will be 5 hours on the horse in total. The tour will give you an excellent view on the white headed surrounding mountains. We sleep in a CBT homestay in Kara Alma. The next morning, after your breakfast, we will explore the village and visit some local projects. We sleep in a homestay in Kara Alma. The next morning, after our breakfast, we will drive back to Jalal-Abad.

Day 1:

• At around 12:00 we reach the top of a nice hill. We will need another hour to the top of the mountains.
• At around 13:00 we will have lunch at this top of the mountain.
• At 14:30 we will be back at the hill where we can have a cup of tea at the farmers family.
• At around 17:00 we will be back in Kara Alma.
• After that you can take a nice shower and we will have dinner in our CBT homestay in Kara Alma.

Day 2

• The next morning, after breakfast we will do a short walking tour through the village from 09:00-11:00. • Then we return by taxi to Jalal-Abad. You will be back in the city at around lunchtime.
