Day 1 July 29: Early morning arrival at Manas airport. Meet and transfer to Bishkek. Accommodation in a hotel. Rest till lunch. Lunch. Afternoon city tour in Bishkek with visiting: Victory Square, Tsum Center, Opera and Ballet Building, Museum of Fine Arts, Oak Park, Mikhail Frunze Museum, Erkindik Boulevard, Open Air Art Gallery, Central Square Ala-Too, monument to Chingiz Aitmatov, Old Square, monument to Lenin, Panfilov Park, White House, Monument to Revolution, Philharmonic Hall Building, Monument to Manas, Osh bazaar. Dinner. Hotel accommodation.
Day 2 July 30: Morning transfer to Ala-Archa National Park, 45 km from Bishkek. The park was created in 1976 and occupies about 2 280 hectares just 45km from the capital. Ala-Archa is translated from Kyrgyz language as “motley (or bright) juniper. Walk in the gorge. Lunch en route. Drive to Ata Beyit Memorial Complex dedicated to the victims of Revolt against Tsarist Empire in 1916, victims of Stalin’s Repressions 1934-1938, and victims of 2010 Revolution. Return to Bishkek. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner at restaurant.
Day 3 July 31: Morning transfer to Talas via Suusamyr gorge and Too-Ashuu pass. On the way make a stop at Manas Ordo. The mausoleum looks similar to other monuments from the 14th century, with kufic script around the outside edge of the monument. Continue transfer to Talas, arrival by late lunch time, lunch, dinner and overnight will be at home stay in Talas.
Day 4 August 01: After breakfast, your driver takes you to the gorge Besh-Tash where you will meet your guide team to start trekking over the Lake Besh-Tash to the gorge Itagar. Lunch picnic on the lakeshore and wondering around with shepherd’s pasture with many cattle. After picnic crossing the pass Besh-Tash and descend the gorge Itagar where you can have a camping with a tent. Dinner and overnight in tent.
Day 5 August 02: Today trekking down along the river Itagar until the gorge Chychkan where your driver meets you and transferring to Bishkek. Lunch on the roadside cafes. Car will pick up you and transfer to Kyzyl-Oi village. Dinner and overnight will be at home stay.
Day 6 August 03: Transfer from Kyzyl-Oi village to Kyzart pass. Arrival at Kyzart pass, meet your guides team and start the tour. Within sight of the road, cross Kyzyl-Kiya jailoo, an enormous, relatively flat sea of grass. Continue over the Chaar-Archa Pass (3 061 m) into the Chaar-Archa Valley and eat a tasty lunch by the racing river, with views of holy 4400 m Baba-Ata Mountain. Sated, ford the river and follow the trail over verdant hills to Kilemche Jailoo. The name means “like a carpet,” and this swathe of grass covers whole mountain ranges, with shadings as subtle as any shyrdak (shyrdak is a Kyrgyz felt carpet). Dine and sleep in a yurt, naturally.
Day 7 August 04: After breakfast at Kilemche, spend the morning climbing to Jalgyz Karagai pass (3400 m), over the Song-Kol Mountains and into the lake’s basin. The morning climb affords wonderful views of Kilemche jailoo, and the pass itself is rocky and exciting. From the pass, Song-Kol is still distant, but as you traipse down the slopes, it gets larger and larger; the mountains on the other side get higher and higher, until finally the lake fills most of your field of view and the southern mountains tower above it. After lunch at Jaman Echki, car will pick up you and transfer to Batai-Aral yurt camp.
Day 8 August 05: Spend the day enjoying refreshing and well-earned rest at the lake side. Watching and/or participation in everyday life of shepherds: milking mares; making national milk products like kymyz (a fermented mare’s milk) or airan (a sour dense milk product); tending cattle. Eat a delicious lunch here, stroll along the lakeshore, and hope the legendary Song-Kol weather is kind. Meals and accommodation at Song-Kol Lake.
Day 9 August 06: Morning transfer to Tash-Rabat Caravanserai via Mels Ashuu. Have a lunch in Baetovo village at local home stay. On the way make a coffee break. Upon arrival walking at surrounding area and in Tash-Rabat Caravanserai. Dinner and B&B at yurt camp.
Day 10 August 07: Morning transfer to Kol-Suu lake via border zone make a coffee break on the way in Ak-Say valley. Upon arrival to yurt camp, have a lunch and rest at yurt camp. Dinner and overnight at yurt camp.
Day 11 August 08: After breakfast make 2 hours trek to Kol-Suu lake. Make a picnic lunch at Kol-Suu lake. Walk at surrounding area. Optional: horse riding. By lunch tome return to yurt camp. Than transfer to Naryn village. Dinner and B&B at home stay.
Day 12 August 09: After breakfast transfer to Bokonbaevo village. Make a stop at Orto-Tokoy reservoir. By late lunch time arrive to Bokonbaevo village and have a rest. You can swim at lake or just relax under the sun. Dinner and B&B at Bel-Tam yurt camp.
Day 13 August 10: After breakfast short transfer to Jaychi yurt camp where you can join the Birds of Prey Festival. Dinner and B&B at Bel-Tam yurt camp.
Day 14 August 11: morning transfer to Bishkek. On the way make a stop at Burana tower architectural complex (10-11th century, an important point on the Great Silk Road), 15km from the main road
